How to perform test
Vitamin D | Affimedix

All you need:
- 1x Vitamin D Test Cassette
- 1x 10 µL Fixed-Volume Capillary Pipette
- 1x Sterile Lancet
- 1x Alcohol Swab
- 1x Buffer Solution Tube
- 1x Igloo Reader
- 1x Affimedix Adapter

STEP 1: Prepare and Disinfect the Sampling Area
Lay out all kit components. Disinfect the fingertip with the alcohol swab and let it dry.

STEP 2: Perform a Fingerstick
Use the sterile lancet to puncture the side of the fingertip. Gently massage the finger to form a blood drop.

STEP 3: Collect Exactly 10 µL of Blood
Use the provided fixed-volume pipette. Allow it to fill automatically without squeezing. Only use the supplied pipette for accuracy.

STEP 4: Mix Blood with Buffer
Transfer the collected blood into the buffer tube. Mix gently by inverting or swirling several times.
Do not shake vigorously.

STEP 5: Insert the Test Cassette into the Adapter
Place the cassette firmly into the Igloo adapter.
Important: The sample well must be on the opposite side of the arrow indicating insertion direction.

STEP 6: Add 3 Drops of the Mixed Sample
Use the dropper to dispense 3 full drops into the sample well of the cassette inside the adapter.
Hold vertically. Avoid touching the cassette or creating bubbles.

STEP 7: Power On the Igloo Reader
Press and hold the power button until the LED activates.

STEP 8: Start New Measurement & Enter Patient Info
Press "New Measurement" on the touchscreen. Enter patient data (ID, age, etc.).
✅ This info will be linked to the final report.

STEP 9: Wait 15 Minutes
The reader will start the test. A countdown appears. Do not move or disturb the device.

STEP 10: Retrieve the Result
When the timer ends, the result is shown on-screen and in the app. Choose an output method:
- Print via mini-printer
- Scan the QR code on the reader to get the PDF result to your smartphone

Note: Igloo Reader and Adapter sold separately.
DISPOSAL:
- Dispose of used cassettes, pipettes, and lancets as biohazardous waste.
- Do not reuse any test components.
- Reader and adapter are reusable; clean according to the official maintenance guide.
