New tests: ApoB and Lp(a)

Igloo has expanded its cardiovascular testing portfolio with the introduction of Apolipoprotein B and Lipoprotein(a) assays, enabling more detailed lipid risk assessment in point-of-care settings. Both markers can be measured using the Igloo Reader Pro and are designed for use with small blood samples, delivering results suitable for routine clinical workflows.
ApoB and Lp(a) are related but not interchangeable markers. ApoB reflects the total number of atherogenic lipoprotein particles driving atherosclerosis, while Lp(a) measures a specific ApoB-containing particle associated with inherited cardiovascular risk and additional pro-atherogenic and pro-thrombotic effects. Together, they provide complementary information that supports more comprehensive cardiovascular risk assessment.
The addition of ApoB and Lp(a) testing to traditional lipid panels supports broader cardiovascular risk stratification and aligns with growing clinical recognition of these markers in preventive care. The tests are CE-certified and suitable for integration into pharmacy and outpatient healthcare environments.

Igloo is excited to launch its new Lipid + Glucose Panel, designed to deliver accurate, laboratory-quality results in a convenient, pharmacy-ready format.
A key factor in achieving reliable lipid and glucose measurements is maintaining precise temperature control during analysis. The Igloo Reader Pro adapter ensures this by keeping the sample at an optimal 37 °C, the ideal temperature for enzymatic reactions. This stable temperature environment guarantees high reproducibility and consistent results, comparable to those obtained in professional laboratory settings.
Using a proven enzymatic colorimetric method, the kit allows for fast testing of total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, and blood glucose with a small blood sample, delivering clear results in three minutes.
CE-certified and easy to integrate into everyday practice, the new Lipid + Glucose Panel empowers pharmacies and healthcare professionals to provide accessible, evidence-based preventive health monitoring.

Igloo Technology recognized at Health-i Awards 2025
We are excited to share that the Health-i Awards 2025 have honored the innovative rapid-test analysis device developed by the Igloo team, recognized as part of the winning project presented by goodscare.
